Countdown to War with China

• Chinese Attack on Taiwan expected 2025-2027 by most military experts including some vocal U.S. generals and admirals in the Pacific.
  
  

• China regularly performs Military Actions, harassment, and pressure tactics against their neighbors, including Taiwan, the Philippians and Japan in their own waters - all being U.S. Allies.
  
  

• Strategic Importance of Taiwan -
  GLOBAL TRADE: With only two direct international shipping lanes from Asia to the Pacific Ocean, both are directly next to Taiwan, One-Third of all global maritime shipping goes through this area. Additionally 98% of all under-sea data/communications with Asia.
  PHARMAECUUTICAL DRUGS: 2019 Data shows 31% of U.S. pharmaceutical drugs come through this area too (18% from India, 13% from China - source: 2019 FDA report). More current data shows that 95% of American generic pharmaceutical drugs originate in China. That is, China produced the base chemicals used in global drug manufacturing, not just in China but most other countries, like India, a top global supplier.
  COMPUTER MICRO-CHIPS: Taiwan manufactures 92% of the world's advanced micro chips and 53% of all micro chips globally, that including 70% of global smartphone chips and 35% of global automotive chips (source: RHG).
  
  

• U.S. Power Grid likely Disabled in a first wave hacking attack by China. How long will it be down? Unknown, but expect it to be an ongoing frontline battleground of hacking attacks. ThreatBoard's assessment is that the Grid will be taken down for at least 2 to 3 months in the first hacking attack. If there are also homeland physical sabotage attacks on the Power Grid, that timeframe could easily reach 1 year causing a 90% death rate in the U.S.

• Extended Economic Depression
  The Rand research organization estimates that a war involving China and the U.S. over Taiwan would be the biggest blow to American prosperity since the Great Depression in the 1930s.  SOURCE: Yahoo Finance: Aug 2022
  Rand predicts a 5 to 10% fall in U.S. GDP in the first year. Compare that with a 12% fall in GDP the first year of the Great Depression.

PUTTING THIS ALL TOGETHER - war with China and even a temporary disabling of the U.S. Power Grid will severely disrupt the U.S. Economy, easily placing us into an extended Economic Depression, some say an even Greater Depression than of the 1930s.

War with China is just as likely to start over the Philippines than over Taiwan. 

SOUTH CHINA SEA (aka West Philippine Sea)

China has built man-made islands and military bases throughout the South China Sea, including in Philippine (EEZ) waters. China heavily patrols these areas like it is their waters and harasses foreign vessels. In 2025, China has continued to significantly increase military naval threats and harassment of Filipino boats to the point of actual physical military actions (ramming and boarding). Past Chinese actions could have killed Filipinos - a line crossed that would bring the U.S. into War with China. So far, no one has been killed yet, but many Filipinos have already been seriously injured.

The U.S. has a mutual defense treaty with the Philippines.
