Media Biases are very important to understand. SO, we decided to make this page public in its early development stage. Please excuse the mess.
The Good, The Bad, the Ugly, the Despicable.
BIAS CAN BE GOOD or BAD.
ALL REPORTING IS BIASED. We just have to learn their biases to properly understand their reporting. Bias shows up in news reporting in different ways - some overt (loud and clear) ways, or subtle and covert ways.
People can be biased for an ideology, political party or leader, religious faith, or any other thing they hold strong beliefs for. Buyer/Reader beware. It's our job to know the difference. This is often called "Media Education."
The one bias we should hope they have is that they prioritize facts, truth, and quality reporting and not lazy, parroting propaganda.
SOURCES, SOURCES, SOURCES - Give me Original Sources!
Don't just believe anybody without having multiple original reports and/or verifications. Reports that just echo/repeat an original report ARE NOT SOURCES. Journalism 101 - SPEND 5-10 MINUTES DOING RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SHARE SOMETHING. Don't be the one who cried wolf - because it's only your reputation that dies.
BAD MEDIA BIAS more often is seen from the Left, but not always. It comes in the form of news stores that are non-factual, altered, skewed, spined, or are outright false, fake news propaganda.
FAIR SOMETIMES, NOT ALWAYS
News agencies that are heavily biased on one topic are sometimes not on others - and sometimes that changes back and forth. Some who 'claim' to be A 'MIDDLE-OF-THE-ROAD' news agency often just allow both left and right garbage propaganda without challenging if its factual, calling it ''neutral and balanced' reporting - lazy.
CORRUPT JOURNALISM is a bias that covers up the truth of a news story, that dilutes the truth, or that spin the truth (making it appear the truth is not the truth).
FAKE NEWS goes beyond corrupt journalism to propaganda - false stories. These are stories that are more fiction than fact or are built upon a obscure or little facts, or that focus heavily on people's 'feelings' on a topic than the facts of a topic.
